Hike a challenging loop at the Cronan Ranch Trails with ARC hike leader Amy Brinkley. Come enjoy a variety of terrain, great views of the river, and the rolling prairie on this challenging 5-7-mile hike. This is a moderate-level hike, with some challenging elevation change. Join the American River Conservancy near Salmon Falls Ranch for a day of trail work as we continue to smooth out and maintain the trail.

Tuesday March 6th from 10am-2pm with breaks for lunch, snacks and water. Please bring a pair of work/garden gloves, a full water bottle and your lunch.

We will also be continuing our oak seedling plantings and doing some weeding in the planted areas near the parking lot.

We anticipate opening this new multi-use public trail and trail-head soon!

Scott Vail, ARC Board member and firefighter, will lead a hike to a wildfire that burned on both sides of the South Fork of the American River this summer. During the hike Scott will discuss fire behavior, fire-fighting in the wildland environment, fire ecology, and living with fire in El Dorado County using the recent fire to provide examples and stimulate discussion. This will be an intermediate hike with gentle slopes of 5 to 6 miles from the Cronan Ranch Parking lot to Norton Ravine. Responsible teen+ welcome.
