This unique 160-acre property located at the headwaters of the North Fork Cosumnes River is a montane wet meadow system that was acquired by the American River Conservancy in 2001. Funding for the project came from the Wildlife Conservation Board and Packard Foundation. Leek Springs is now owned and managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. Visitors to Leek Springs are asked to stay on the trails to avoid damage to the meadow ecosystem. In the spring and early summer, Leek Springs abounds with wildflower displays.
