Acres of Success

Together, we achieve! To date, the Conservancy has

  • protected more than 11,400 acres of fisheries, wildlife habitat, park and recreational lands, and scenic vistas in El Dorado County;

  • provided meaningful, hands-on environmental education programs to over 65,000 children and adults through outreach programs to area schools and through the operation of the American River Nature Center within the Marshall Gold State Park in Coloma;

  • coordinated ongoing activities to take care of the land and rivers, including monitoring water quality in local streams and rivers, planting oaks, building and maintaining recreational trail systems, and enhancing endangered species habitat.

Through its focus on land and river protection, public and youth environmental education and taking care of nature, the Conservancy continues to provide vital ecological services to the people who call the eastern Sacramento area "home".

When you support the Conservancy, you can feel good knowing you are protecting our amazing rivers -- our natural heritage -- for generations to come.

When you donate your time, money, or some combination thereof, you connect to the community of like minded individuals who support the Conservancy.

Together, we achieve more.

  • The dollars you contribute are stretched further as matching funds for grants from funding agencies.

  • The time you contribute goes further, as you work together with other volunteers to take care of the land and build regional trail systems for all to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Your contributions help to support environmental education programs for thousands of school children each year, who in turn become caretakers and teachers of future generations.

The impact of your support is far reaching and enduring. You really do make the difference!

 “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” – John Muir
