Volunteer
Volunteering for ARC is fun! Whether it's trail building, data entry, oak seedling watering, baking cookies for trail workers, working an information booth, preparing mailings, or helping the Conservancy in other ways, we appreciate each and every volunteer. You can make a difference!
To find pre-scheduled volunteer opportunities, go to the activity calendar and filter by “Volunteer Opportunity.” We look forward to seeing you!

Be a Part of ARC's Land Stewardship Crew!
Join us for habitat restoration and trail work days. Tasks involve trail building, maintenance, bridge repair, invasive species removal, native plant species restoration, and many other things in between. Our focus in 2012 will be constructing and repairing new trails at the Wakamatsu Farm in Gold Hill and making progress on a large habitat restoration project. We also work along the South Fork American River doing trail work and invasive plant removal with BLM.
Upcoming Stewardship Days:

Thursday, April 19th--Wakamatsu Farm at Gold Hill.
Sunday, April 22nd, EARTH DAY; pull Scotch broom on the Flume Trail.

Stewardship Days are typically held on the second Saturday and third Thursday of the month. We work from 9am-1pm but times vary by project and by season. Be ready to get dirty, so bring appropriate work attire; also bring water and a snack or lunch. Lastly: have fun!

Volunteer Profile:
Jeff Alley
When asked why he volunteers for the Conservancy, Jeff says
"I like to do work locally, especially in areas that I'm familiar with - where I hike and spend time with my family. It's more personal than donating money, which is important, but contributing your time means a lot."
When asked what he likes best about trail maintenance, Jeff says,
"I like the camaraderie, getting to know people with similar interests, and being in the middle of the woods. You can't beat that."
