Cronan Ranch Hike

December 9th 8:30 – 11:30am   Hike a longer loop of the Cronan Ranch trails with ARC hike leader and author Tom Petersen. Come enjoy a variety of terrain, great views of the river, and the rolling prairie on this challenging 5-7 mile hike. This is a moderate level hike, with some challenging elevation change. Magnolia Ranch hike

Saturday, December 16th 10am-1pm Named for the small long-gone village of Magnolia that once resided along Greenwood Creek, this beautiful riparian prairie now offers easy hiking trails along the river and around its hills. Donna Orth will lead this dogs and kid-friendly 3-mile hike to the river and back. Contact ARC to sign up and for meeting location (Pilot Hill area). Galapagos Islands: Birthplace of Species and Evolutionary Thoughts

Tuesday, January 9th 6-7:30pm     Join naturalist John Kipping as we explore the unique archipelago astride our equator, six hundred miles off Ecuador. We shall examine the major islands which have served as isolated laboratories in the development of many species of tortoises, finches, cacti, and lava lizards. These unique habitats existed without major predators, resulting in a unique garden of Eden-like lack of fear towards humans.
